During the COVID-19 crisis, we know women have been through a series of pandemics: a pandemic of job loss, child care closures, school changes, and food insecurity. In the first few months during the pandemic, the number of Americans who did not have enough food to eat spiked from 8 to 30 million. Since the start of the covid crisis, seven million Americans have enrolled in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and experts estimate a 15% increase is needed to support the food relief program to combat hunger in the United States.
